E-zine advertising is one of the most cost effective ways to drive massive amount of traffic to your website. E-zines are one of the things that the Internet has really made work - and with that, its easy to grab the traffic filtering through the e-zines in existence each and every day. E-zines are, basically, emailed newspapers or magazines - some only email the summaries and ads - others email out the whole newsletter, newspaper, magazine - ads and all. Either way, most E-zines are actually dual fold advertising machines - the email/E-zine itself, and the archive on the site that publishes it.
People have come to love E-zines. They publications come to them on their computers and are directly related to their lives and the things that they are interested in. This relation means that the advertisements are also related, and therefore, usually have a much higher response rate - which is about the most important thing to consider when advertising in e-zines.
E-zine publishers are trusted by their subscribers. And though this may not seem important, they’ve taken all of the hard work out of training their subscribers to actually click through their sites. This works well for you, as an advertiser because you know YOU will not have to retrain people to click through your ads - the E-zine reader’s predisposition to click anything in the E-zine is your friend
E-zine directories are usually your best place to start when planning a campaign using this traffic generation method. Its important to remember that you’ve got broad scope to generate traffic with e-zines and that E-zine readers will respond best to all manner of ads, from giveaways, to offers.
E-zine advertising allows you to reach thousands of people...and not just any people...but the people that your chosen e-zine serves, as a niche and in terms of effectiveness, as well as, efficiency, advertising in E-zines is the top contender for the number one spot in both. E-zines sent to an opt-in list will offer more in terms of advertising bucks than the same amount of impressions via most untargeted solo-ads or PPC clicks.
Most advertising venues available on the Internet are fiercely competitive.
For example: when you place PPC (Pay Per Click) advertisements on the search engines, you are competing with every other marketer in the universe who is selling the same or very similar items. You are competing with thousands of others for the same limited market share. Some of these competitors will have pockets that are a lot deeper than yours, too.
Advertising in E-zines is far less competitive than most other advertising methods.
E-zine advertising has the advantage of some staying power. E-zines are almost always archived and people frequently refer to past issues of E-zines when they are searching for information. As a matter of fact, archived E-zines are one of the most used research tools on the Internet. When you place an advertisement in an E-zine that is dedicated to a topic that directly relates to your product or service, you can think of it as advertising to future potential customers, as well, making it an even bigger advertising bargain.
Just like writing a solo ad, you have to write your advertisement - being as efficient as you can with the words. Don’t waste line space on words like ‘great, fantastic, wonderful, exciting, etc.’ Make every word of your limited words point people directly to your website and to your product.
Publishers of E-zines have permission to send email to their subscribers - which completely forgoes the problems that you’d get buying a list of unverified options of the same size. You’re not going to get busted for spam writing advertisements to a list that isn’t interested - and you’ll not ‘waste’ your money.
E-zine owners also run ‘solo-ads’ again, you’ll be able to use e-zines to run solo ads in some cases, and reach the subscribers without the ‘noise’ ratio of the E-zine itself - which in turn means that its more expensive to do, but is often more cost effective.
Solo ads
Solo ads are emails that are sent to a list or lists by a company or group of people. They can be mailings to an E-zine list, outwith the E-zine or newsletter itself, or simply a collection of ads that are emailed to the subscribers.
Solo ads are basically articles or long form ads - or even short sales letters that you produce to sell your product.
One of the advantages of solo ads is that if you are in front of people, and have a headline and first couple of paragraphs that interest them, they should increase your click-throughs. This holds true of emailing your own list.
Most solo ads are presented 'one a day' at most - they aren't part of the regular emailing, and should be viewed as a 'stand-alone' mailing, just like you'd send your own list.

E-zine Advertising
Forum Marketing - Part 2
Go to your favorite search engine and in the search box type in your key words followed by the word ‘forums’. Hit search. You will be amazed at how many hits you get for your niche. And each of those forums could be a high traffic goldmine for any readers you’re hoping to attract. And each forum is your chance to impress, find ideas AND, best of all, generate traffic to your site.
Finding forums to frequent
Forums that have high traffic are great places to hang out, and work with people, and discuss the niche you're in. Typing 'forum'+'your niche or primary keyword' into a search engine will of course give you the best results, but you might also want to hang out on any forums you already have access to, and ask people where they like to hang out.
Traffic generation for forums
Forum traffic generation is simply a case of posting and interacting on forums. If you can do that, and do it well, you will see a marked increase in traffic.
But you’ve got to pay attention to the sites rules - if they have any, stick to them, like glue. Be aware of any rules about siglines, and information on how to post, where to post and when to post. You’ll find that, in the long run, you’ll make more friends, readers, and interested other parties that way.
Discussions, siglines, and trolling
Discussions, when they get going on forums are great - unlike blogs, the ONLY reasons for forums is interaction. Most forum programs are not Google friendly, and not only that, anyone with posting priviledges can start a conversation. Posting articles on forums is a good way to open discussions, but might not always be appreciated - people go to forums, after all, to discuss, not share opinions.
And you might find on that note, that people disagree with you - or that you might disagree with them. Its perfectly fine to disagree with people - as long as you’re respectful
Whether they are or not.
There’s another type of forum poster. They are called ‘trolls’ and make most people miserable when they encounter them. They are argumentative, and in many ways, more destructive than spammers - as they don’t care that people are actually civil to one another - instead, all they care about is causing a fuss.
So, as long as you’re not a troll, people will read your answers with interest.
The dos and don’ts of posting to a forum for advertising.
There are several dos and don'ts when posting to forums, and if you follow them, you'll find that you'll make friends, influence people, and of course, generate tonnes of traffic, all at once.
- Do use a sigline – always use a sigline within the remit of the forums themselves. If you're allowed to use your sigline to promote, then do so. Make sure you're using relevant urls, and keep the information current.
- Write replies that aren't aggressive, but ARE challenging – a knack in writing information on forums, is to give people more information, and challenge them to understand and follow through on the information that you're providing, without causing reasonable people to argue. There IS a difference between reasonable forum occupants (99.99% of them) and trolls.
- Answer questions honestly, and without promotion that is unnecessary. If you've gotten to the point where you're transient questions constantly, its easy to slip into the habit of answering 'almost related questions' with the same information that you'd use to promote your expertise – which, in turn, can have you seen as a spammer.
- Don't give away the farm – unless you're sure that the information is freely available elsewhere, remember that you want people to visit your site – having said that, giving people a short 'teaser' answer and then telling them to come to your site might also gain you a reputation for being a bit of a miser. So you have to find a middle ground. You can't answer every question and still expect to get business.
- Write what you know, and back it up – if you can't back up anything that people are questioning you'll probably find that people challenge you, whether they have just cause or not (see trolls) so if you're providing information that needs documentation or backed up, make sure you CAN back it up.
- Don't waste your time – if a forum is dissolving into pointless spamming, arguing 'etc' – walk away. You can always check back at intervals and see if things are better later, but it is a waste of your time to promote on a forum that isn't cared for.
- Don't be a troll – trolling, or the act of specifically picking fights and arguments with others is something you should avoid, under any circumstances. If someone tries to harass you, or are looking to get a rise out of you on a forum, remember that its better to ignore and start a new thread than fire off with both barrels.

StumbleUpon Traffic - Part 1
What Is StumbleUpon.com?
StumbleUpon is a popular social bookmarking community, owned by eBay that is used by thousands of people all over the world. As a member of StumbleUpon, you are able to rate websites, video clips, articles, photos and more. Members within the community are known as ‘stumblers’, and they highlight websites that they have frequented by clicking on the “Stumble!” button that is located in the toolbar of their browser.
The more ‘stumbles” a website receives, the more popular it becomes throughout the StumbleUpon community, and in turn, the more traffic it will experience from the constant exposure of new Stumbles.
In essence, StumbleUpon is a recommendation-based system powered by the members who visit websites and decide which ones are worthy of a notable stumble.
There is also a one-click blogging ability built in as well. Users can rate, or choose not to rate, any webpage with thumbs up or thumbs down options.
Clicking the Stumble button resembles "channel-surfing" the web with a series of websites in a system rotation of sorts. In addition, there are tool-bars available for those who wish to simplify their “stumbling” by implementing an existing toolbar into their browser. Then, with just a single click they can rate the websites they visit.
They can also provide a personal review on your website and categorize it based on the subject matter, all within a few seconds of visiting a site.
To get started, you will have to create a Stumble Upon account:
Create Your StumbleUpon account at:
http://www.stumbleupon.com/sign_up.php
Currently, there are tool-bars available for Firefox, and Internet Explorer.
As soon as you have created your StumbleUpon account, you will be given the option to download the toolbar. I suggest doing so.
Once you have it installed, you will see a button that will allow you to stumble (highlight for others to view), sites based on your selected preferences and options as indicated in your StumbleUpon account profile.
Just visit your website and click on the “I Like It!” button (with the Thumbs Up icon) that appears in your browser toolbar. This will open a pop-up window that allows you to rate it, and categorize your site, with a short description and tag with specific keywords.
Once you do this, your site will be entered into StumbleUpon’s database instantly, and will appear when other users with similar interests (as the tags you use) use their StumbleUpon toolbar to surf the Internet.
Not Seeing The Pop Up Rating Box?
When you, yourself Stumble Upon a new site that hasn’t been found or rated before, and you click on the “I Like It!” button, the pop up window will appear. If you rate a site that already exists in the Stumble Upon database, this window will not appear although you can still rate the site and you can also see what other Stumblers have found and rate it as well.
StumbleUpon Traffic - Part 2
How Can StumbleUpon Benefit You?
If you are looking to send a surge of traffic to a new website or blog, Stumbleupons advertising options may be a lucrative and easy way to achieve instant results.
StumbleUpon Ads allows webmasters to submit a page on their sites or blogs that is shown to StumbleUpon users as they stumble through a series of websites. It has quickly become a popular choice for bloggers who wish to advertise their new blogs, as the traffic received is purely organic, the best type of traffic you can get.
The cost is also quite reasonable at just 5 cents per impression, meaning, for as little as $5.00 in advertising credit, you can receive 100 Stumble Upon users visit and review your website.
It’s also an easy advertising vehicle, in fact, it doesn’t even require you to manually create advertisements, but instead, you simply select a website URL that you would like the traffic directed to.
Advertising with StumbleUpon is also quite flexible. You can target your pages to be seen throughout specific categories, or base it on demographics. This enables you to really target who sees specific pages .
As for price setting, you can choose your maximum daily spending limit, to ensure that you stay within your intended budget, and best of all, you can pay using either a credit card or via Paypal, if you choose.
Note: If you are particularly careful when creating your ad campaigns and target your visitors as best as you can, expect to receive a lot more traffic then you actually paid for. The more people who like your website when they visit (and therefore “Stumble! – it”) the more traffic you will continue to get, at no extra cost. Therefore, be careful when targeting specific categories, groups or demographics.
As an advertiser, you will be given full stats including a visible chart on how many visitors actually viewed your website, how many gave you a “Thumbs Up!” (or down) and so on. This helps you test the effectiveness of your ad-copy and modify if needed.
It’s truly a great source of traffic. In fact, traffic is quite long term. I am still receiving traffic for web pages that I stumbled weeks ago.

StumbleUpon Traffic - Part 3
How Popular Is StumbleUpon?
StumbleUpon is growing at a rapid pace (currently over 3,000,000 members), and considering eBay and Google were in a bidding war to obtain the site, you might say it’s rather popular.
However, the potential for targeted, organic and steady traffic with StumbleUpon is quite under-estimated, especially by newer bloggers who aren’t aware of just how feasible social networks like StumbleUpon really is.
Don’t make the same mistake. An ad campaign doesn’t have to have loads of activity to become a popular choice by Stumblers. All you need are a handful of “Thumbs Up” to reach hundreds of visitors.
The key is to focus on designing your website so that it attracts your Stumbler visitors within the first few seconds of their landing on your page. Sometimes, that’s all the time you have to make an impression and encourage them to vote for you, or to return to your site.
Here are some tips that will help you capture their attention:
Tip 1: Clearly Define Your Blogs Subject Matter
You need to be clear about the subject matter of your blog. If your blog looks cluttered, or has too many categories, it could confuse the visitor and end up costing you a vote. Be exceptionally clear about what your blog is about. If your visitor can see exactly what your blog is about within the first few minutes of visiting, they are more likely to stay and look around, not to mention return to your site.
Tip 2: Eye Candy
Every aspect of your blog is important, especially the header. That is one of the first things your visitors see. Make sure it is crisp and attractive. If you are unable to create a customized header yourself, hire a graphic designer to do it for you – it’s THAT important.
This also goes with your blog’s theme template. You want one that actually represents the subject of your blog but is also attractive and professional. Don’t use the theme that comes by default with your blog, take the time to scout out an alternative replacement so that your blog appears to be unique.
Tip 3: Content Is King
Don’t start advertising your blog until you have enough content to justify a visit. You want your visitor to spend as much time on your site as possible, so be sure to include at least a few categories and at least two weeks worth of content, to start.
Tip 4: Pretend You Have A Captive Audience
Be sure to put your best effort into your blog. Even while you might feel as though you are talking to yourself when you first create your blog (and most likely you are), remember that every article, every bit of content that you publish must be interesting to those in your niche.
Do not skip this by plugging in saturated PLR articles that you purchased somewhere. Take the time to write your own stuff, people WILL notice the difference.
If you follow these tips you WILL increase your chances of having a successful advertising campaign with StumbleUpon. Taking the time to create the best blog possible will indicate to your Stumbler-Visitors that your blog is a useful resource that is both informative and unique. If they feel they can get the same information elsewhere, why would they stay at your site?
Tip 5: Copy From Those That “Do”
Check out what types of headlines the most popular sites in your niche market are using and simply design your headline to use a similar style.
StumbleUpon Traffic - Part 4
Don’t Just Pay For Traffic – Earn It
You don’t want to continuously purchase traffic via StumbleUpon that should never be your ultimate goal. Instead, you should utilize the advertising services there to jumpstart your blog traffic with the goal being to encourage Stumblers to vote for you, which will in turn, push other visitors to your site, for free.
Some bloggers fail to do this and end up paying for traffic longer than they would need to, if they just focused on creating a useful blog. Even though the advertising costs are lower than typical PPC campaigns, you can save a ton of cash if you make your blog worthy of a stumble.
Set your blog in motion and watch the traffic continue to pour in, day after day!
StumbleUpon Traffic - Part 5
Catch Them Before The Next Stumble
Since stumblers are similar to television channel surfers, you might not be able to hold their attention for long, no matter how compelling or interesting your content may be. To get the most out of their visit, offer a subscription form on your site where you offer a free report, eCourse, something – Anything – to encourage them to leave their information.
That way, you can work on growing your list as well as growing your site.
Your subscription box should be placed in a highly visible area of your blog. You should also utilize graphics, or compelling headlines to make sure it’s noticed.
StumbleUpon Traffic - Part 6
Take Baby Steps
Don’t spend a ton of cash on your first StumbleUpon ad campaign, instead, test your ad copy with just a small spend. Once you see it working, you can increase your daily budget.
Be sure to pay attention to the available stats to determine how many people voted for your site and continuously tweak it for the best performance you can get out of it. Testing isn’t fun but it’s important because you want to get the most votes you can. Once you are consistently receiving votes, you will start receiving a flood of organic traffic and when that happens, be prepared to pause your campaign before you purchase traffic for nothing.
StumbleUpon Traffic - Part 7
What To Avoid
Some bloggers believe that sending Stumblers to the very front page of their blog is the best choice, when advertising with StumbleUpon. I would suggest that instead; create a landing page specifically for each campaign. If Stumblers have to seek out solid content, they’ll be gone before you know it, assuming it’s a paid advertisement or sales pitch.
Solution:
Choose a thread or page that carefully relates to your specific group of visitors (using categories and demographics), and choose a post that you feel is absolutely compelling. Make it spicy, entertaining, controversial, whatever you have to do to make that page stick and become ‘viral’.
Also remember to add your sites to StumbleUpon by creating an ‘alias’ account and Stumbling onto your own pages, after first checking to see if they have already been Stumbled.
You can check by visiting:
http://reviews.stumbleupon.com/
No Ads
Do not fill your landing page with banner ads, text ads or any ads whatsoever other than perhaps Adsense, but be careful with that as well. As a Stumbler myself, if I come across a website that looks like Adsense is their primary content provider, I will not stay there and might even consider giving it a “Thumbs Down”.
Inappropriate Categories
Make sure if you “Stumble” your own websites that you choose the appropriate categories to put them under. Remember when people stumble onto sites and rate them, they are given the option to categorize them based on the subject matter. If you incorrectly categorize your website, it will get poor reviews from visitors feeling cheated or misdirected.
You’re A Stumbler, Not A Salesmen
Make sure that your writing is personable and friendly. Do not come across as a salesmen, Stumblers aren’t out looking for things to buy, you need to earn that by first capturing their attention and drawing them in deeper. This is why I suggest writing articles instead of directing them to your front page. You need to GIVE them something, make them feel that they are benefiting by rating your site and returning to it.
StumbleUpon Traffic - Part 8
How To convert a Stumbler into a regular visitor?
One thing you will need to understand right from the start, is that you lose the majority of “Stumbler visitors” once they have reviewed your front page.
That being said, StumbleUpon can send you SO much traffic that even if a small percentage are converted into subscribers or regular visitors, it more than makes up for it.
Here is how you can increase your chances of obtaining new regular visitors and opt-in subscribers using Stumble Upon.
Tip 1) Make certain you have an RSS button AND an opt-in email subscription box visible on your landing page. Don’t clutter it into some side-bar that is difficult to see, make sure it’s upfront and center, surrounded around good, solid content.
Also, because a lot of visitors will be scrollers, make sure to have a link to your opt-in box towards the bottom of your landing page as well.
Tip 2) Implore a Call For Action
Either direct them to a product or service using a cloaked affiliate link, send them through a CPA offer, send them to another one of your websites, articles, or blogs - just be sure to prompt them to take action.
Don’t leave them wondering what to do next.
Tip 3) If possible, and you have created a customized landing page for your StumbleUpon advertising, personalize it by mentioning StumbleUpon on your page. For example:
“Stumbled Across Any Decent Sites Today?”
They’ll love it, and feel you are part of the community and not just some advertiser. This will increase your conversion rate significantly.
Tip 4) Everyone Loves Contests
Create a contest on your landing page. Who doesn’t love the chance to win a free digital product, cash, service, etc? Have them opt-into your subscription box to be entered into your draw. This is an easy way to convert one-time traffic into repeat visitors who want to find out more about the contest or receive updates.

StumbleUpon Traffic - Part 9
Getting Traffic From StumbleUpon At No Cost
SureFire Method #1
Multiple Accounts For Multiple Niches
You should always have one account for each niche market that you intend to target (example, one account for fitness, one account for health, etc). There are also categories that you can pre-select using StumbleUpon and this is critical for the type of niches that you would like to obtain traffic from. You will need a unique username (which is an email address) for each StumbleUpon account that you create.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
If you are logged into one StumbleUpon account and you attempt to create another, you will receive a warning advising you that you may lose your original account by creating multiple accounts, so be sure to log out of one account before creating a new one.
Sure-Fire Method #2
Copy Already Successful Stumbled Sites
If you look on a person’s favorite website list you can see what people have recommended in the past. Use that to your advantage! You won’t see a lot of squeeze pages or one page sales letters. Check it out for yourself and see the types of landing pages that are popular and are highly recommended by other members.
Then, create your landing page with the same style or layout.
Sure-Fire Method #3
This is a great way to build your list quickly and people are already doing this on places like YouTube with great results. To start, create a short video teaser clip and call it Part One, with a link that indicates in order to see Part Two, they need to enter their name and email address into your opt-in form.
Try it out and see how fast you build your list.
Sure-Fire Method #4
StumbleUpon allows you to join groups and choose friends with similar interests. Be certain to only add friends who are interested in your niche market!
For instance, if you are promoting a Health related blog, you should only add friends who have similar interests listed, since you are able to recommend they visit the sites you stumble (and of course, you are going to Stumble your own =)
Joining a few groups relating to your subject matter is a great way to obtain instant traffic to your blog. Look for the larger, more popular groups.
Remember, the more friends you have, the more traffic your website will receive, since the more people will view your recommendations and visit your listed sites, but if you want TARGETED traffic (and you should) choosing only those within your niche categories is the only thing that makes sense.
Warning: Be Careful With The Friends You Add!
StumbleUpon restricts the number of friends each of your accounts can have, currently it is a 250 maximum limit, therefore be sure to only add friends from categories that serve your niche market.
StumbleUpon Traffic - Part 10
Make Money With StumbleUpon.
You can make easy money with StumbleUpon and CPA offers. You can also build your list quickly this way.
Locate good solid CPA offers, and then write interesting articles about the product, prompting them to take action by clicking on your CPA link. I have found that building articles that are focused on “How To” guides, or “Lists (example: Five Sure-fire Ways To Get Traffic, Ten Super-Charged Methods Of Building Profitable Blogs, etc) work best.
Also, limit the number of links on your article page so that the only links visible are ones that will lead them to an offer where you get paid.
What To Expect:
How many visitors you get will depend on the way you have created your landing page, but on average, expect to receive between 100-8000 daily unique visitors.
StumbleUpon Traffic - Part 11
Stumble Exchanges
There are StumbleUpon related exchange programs available where you can create a free account and exchange ‘stumbles’ with other members (you stumble their site, they stumble yours).
Remember, this will not be targeted traffic but it’s a great way to jump-start your stumble campaigns!
I hope you have enjoyed the information contained with the Stumble Upon Traffic posts. Being both an advertiser and stumbler of the Stumble Upon community can be an enjoyable and rewarding way to browse interesting websites while promoting your own.

Social Bookmarking
In this Easy Web Traffic Technique, we are going to look at something that is still relatively new in the Internet Marketing arena. It's called Social Bookmarking. Social Bookmarking is essentially using a social bookmarking service to bookmark your webpages or blog posts, so that other users of the bookmarking site can visit. When you bookmark a site, you tag it with keywords, and people can search for the keywords that reflect their interests at the social bookmarking site.
Does it work? Absolutely! In fact, this is a very fast way to generate really good traffic to your site for free. Notice that I said ‘really good traffic.’ This is good traffic because the visitor finds your site by searching for the keywords that you’ve used when you bookmarked it. They are essentially looking for you. For this reason, it is important to use keyword tags, for each page, that are absolutely relevant to the content on that page. Don’t try to use unrelated keywords, this tactic simply won’t work.
There are numerous social bookmarking sites out there, and hitting them all, to bookmark each page of your website, could literally take days, if not weeks. Fortunately, there are social bookmarking services that will send your bookmarks and tags to numerous social bookmarking sites in one fell swoop.
You want a service that targets the best social bookmarking sites, and that service is Only Wire
Only Wire is free to use. Getting set up with Only Wire takes a couple of hours, because you will need to go to each of the social bookmarking sites that it lists, register, and then put your username and password for each site into the list at Only Wire.
Once that is done, you will add the Only Wire icon to your browser toolbar (very easy to do – you just click, hold the mouse button down, and drag and drop it up there). Now, you are all set up. When you are ready to bookmark your pages, first go to the Only Wire site and login. Leave that window open. Open another window (tabbed browsers work great for this), go to your site, go to a page that you want to bookmark, and hit the icon.
You will be taken to the Only Wire add a bookmark page. Here, everything is filled in, except your keyword tags. List the keywords that are associated with the page you are bookmarking, and hit submit. You’re done with that page – move on to the next one. Nothing could be easier, and again, it is very effective.

Digg Your Way To Traffic
The simpliest and easiest, yet one of the most effective ways to get traffic and highly quality targeted traffic to your blog is to post on other blogs comment forms.
I don't mean spammy posts. I mean, really REALLY informative comments. If you are posting a comment on a particular post, add to the post, give more information and then link back to a similar post on your blog. This works really well in very high traffiked blogs.
Digg.com is a place that has lots of traffic and allows comments on posts.
Digg allows you to post comments on their website about their posts and submitted sites. You can get HOARDS of traffic from them.
Digg.com is a social bookmarking website. What users can do is submit their websites or blog posts or article posts to this site and then try and get on the front page on Digg.com
The post with the most Diggs gets to be on the front page. This site will drives LOADs of traffic to your site, but it is not always of the highest quality.
Have Fun!
Blogging for Traffic
Blogging for Traffic is a great and easy way to deal with the rigors of creating a steady stream of traffic. On the one hand, they can be used to drive traffic to your site, or even be a part of your site, but on the other, they can detract from your site and drive traffic away.
The easiest way to blog for traffic, of course, is to blog in your niche and include regular links back to your site, or post reprint articles directly to your blog – that way, you're getting 'double play' from the content you're distributing. Whilst this is, of course, a common way to use articles and other content, its important to add to this content, and make sure that your content is all relevant. You can then use these blogs as link exchanges, and more.
Most blogs are primarily designed to provide content for people to read – the 'stickivity' of blogs not only offers you alternative venues for traffic generation, and another place to post and work, promote and produce content and information from.
Commenting on blogs
If you're not interested in creating your own blog, you can still comment on other people's blogs, within your niche, and only in the case of blogs, related niches that would, conceivably, need information in your niche.
Commenting is easy to do – find the blog, find something that you can elaborate on or add to a conversation and do so. And that's the cardinal rule of posting comments – make sure it adds to the conversation on the post – as each post is a conversation, and interrupting or rudely adding to it is just like rudely butting into a conversation in real life.
You should only ever include links within the body of your comment IF you have reason to – such as for reference – always remember though, that you can add your own site in link back from the comment, as most blogging systems allow you to specify your name, and URL at the very least.

Tips For Using Traffic Exchanges
- Track Everything - As with all online marketing efforts, it’s critical that you track all traffic generated by Traffic Exchanges. Tracking can be done using a tracking service which you pay for monthly, or using tracking software which you purchase and install on your server. Whichever option you choose, be sure to look for a solution that will give you as much information as possible. Many will tell you how many clicks you get, how many are unique visitors versus return visitors and where they were referred from. Some even give you conversion information by telling you which visits resulted in sales.
- Know Your Audience - It is important to remember that everyone using Traffic Exchanges is first and foremost interested in having their own pages seen. Just like you, they all want to drive traffic to their sites. This means that you have to develop creative, eye-catching pages to entice them to take action. Simply using the same affiliate materials everyone else is will not be effective.
- Make Sure Your Page Loads Quickly - Your website design and the time it takes for the website to load are very critical when using Traffic Exchanges. Your page will never be seen if your site takes 15 seconds to load and the exchange rotates the websites every 15 seconds. You want to have at least a 10-second viewing window to give the surfing exchange member time to respond to your offer.
- Use Simple Splash Pages – Rather than sending surfers to your home page, which provides too much information, use a splash page. This is a page that does not require any scrolling. It’s purpose is to be short, sweet and to the point. Typically it consists of a killer headline, a clear list of benefits and a simple call to action. You want your visitor to be able to make a quick decision whether to ask for more information or pass on your offering.
- Include a Persuasive Call to Action - Make sure the page has a clear “call to action”. That is, that it clearly tells the customer whay they should do next. Whether that’s join your newsletter, request your free ebook or take some other action, it should be obvious to the surfer what they are to do.
- Capture Their Contact Information – Offer surfers something in exchange for their email address. This gives you permission to contact them later and introduce them to your products and services.
- Learn From Others - As you’re surfing, be sure to take note of the pages that catch your attention. Chances are that if they are enticing to you, they are enticing to others. What is it about the page that appeals to you? What made you want to take action? This is very valuable information that you can use to improve your own pages.
- Make Your Offer Stand Out – If you have your own niche website, then you already differentiated yourself from the pack. If you are an affiliate marketer, then you need to find products/services that everyone else isn't already promoting, especially within your particular Traffic Exchange. Your individual promotion is everything. If you're trying to promote something everyone else is your sales conversions are going to be very low, or nothing at all.
- Only Choose Traffic Exchanges that Offer Manual Surfing - Most people do not even watch the window when an autosurf is running. If it is a manual surf exchange they have to physically watch the pages in order to go to the next site. This gives you the best opportunity for them to actually see your site and be drawn in by your offer.
- Test. Test. Test. – If you’ve put in place a good tracking system you’ll be able to run tests to find out what effect they have on your results. Try different headlines, graphics and offers to see which ones get the best response. The most effective way to test is using Split Run Testing. This involves creating two pages that are similar but have one thing different (for example different headlines). You show the two pages equally to your visitors and see which one converts best. There are several scripts available to help you do Split Run Testing very easily.
Remember, if you put some time and energy into working Traffic Exchanges you’ll soon be seeing a steady stream of traffic to your own site. As with all things that are worthwhile it may take a while to create your downline and determine the best offer to make surfers. But in the end it will be well worth it!
How Traffic Exchanges Work
Different Traffic Exchanges work in different ways. In general though they all offer a free or paid version. Depending on which option you choose you will be eligible to receive a certain number of credits when you surf other member’s sites and when you refer people who join.
Almost all of them also allow you to build a downline of members you’ve referred. Often your downline can extend several levels deep so that as people you refer in turn refer others, you continue to gain more and more credits.
Some Traffic Exchanges also pay out cash incentives when the people in your downline upgrade their membership or purchase other forms of advertising that the Traffic Exchange offers such as banner ads. This gives you several ways to benefit from participating in the Traffic Exchange.
When deciding which Traffic Exchange program to join, there are several features to consider:
- Credit Ratio – All Traffic Exchanges allow you to earn credits in exchange for viewing other member’s web pages. Look for one that provides a good return on the number of credits you receive for each page you view.
- Time Limits – When surfing for credits, most Traffic Exchanges require you to view a site for a minimum amount of time before you earn a credit. This is normally somewhere between 10 and 30 seconds. The longer you have to view a page means the slower you can surf, but it also means longer that potential customers view your pages.
- Anti Cheat Mechanisms – To ensure that a real person is viewing your web site most Traffic Exchanges use anti cheating mechanisms. This usually means that instead of clicking a “Next Site" button you have to click on a specific graphic such as a number, letter, picture or coloured icon from a selection of a few, to proceed to the next site. Repeated failure to do this correctly means account suspension or termination. Look for a Traffic Exchange with a system like this to ensure that your credits are not wasted on cheaters who never view your page.
- Referrals – This is the fastest way to build up your credits. Most Traffic Exchanges provide you with referral pages and banners. You can use these materials to recruit your downline. When someone signs up from your promotional web page or banner they are placed in your downline.
- Paid/Pro Memberships – Most Traffic Exchanges offer paid memberships as well as free memberships. Normally a paid membership earns you privileges such as an allocation of credits per month plus an increased number of credits for your own surfing and the surfing of your downline. Most exchanges also allow you to purchase extra credits.
- Bonuses – Many Traffic Exchanges will give you bonus credits for signing up, for surfing a certain number of pages, or for winning competitions or sweepstakes. Look for ones that provide added bonuses and accumulate credits even faster!

Benefits Of Traffic Exchanges
There are many benefits to participating in Traffic Exchanges:
- They’re an inexpensive - often free - method of generating targeted traffic to your website.
- You will start seeing an increase in traffic almost immediately. No waiting for weeks or months to see results, as is often the case with other forms of advertising.
- They can be a great way to test ad copy for use with other, more expensive forms of advertising such as Pay Per Click campaigns.
- You can build a “downline” by referring others, which allows you to more quickly earn credits. Over time your traffic can be almost entirely generated by the efforts of others.
- You’ll gain exposure to your competitor’s products and services, which will give you some good ideas for promoting your site.
What are Traffic Exchanges?
In simple terms, a Traffic Exchange is a service you can join to generate free traffic to your site. How it works is you view other members web pages in exchange for having your own web page viewed. Every time you view another member’s web page for a period of time (for example 20 seconds) your balance of credits increases. Every time a member views your web page for the same period of time your credit balance decreases.
There are two main types of traffic exchanges – manual exchanges and auto exchanges. A manual exchange requires a real human being to view the web page and click on a link to proceed to the next web page. An auto exchange can be left running in your web browser and will automatically refresh to a new web page.
Although both of these methods will bring hits to your website, the use of a manual exchange is far more likely to bring a visitor who will actually read what is on your web page. The auto exchange user who leaves their computer on all night, surfing web pages while they sleep is unlikely to buy your product.

Repeat Web Traffic
In this post we are going to talk about getting Repeat Web Traffic.
Repeat Web Traffic is the amount of web users who visit your web site more than once.
- Update the pages on your website frequently. Stagnant sites are dropped by some search engines. You can even put a date counter on the page to show when it was last updated.
- Offer additional value on your website. For affiliates and partners you can place links to their sites and products and ask them to do the same for you. You can also advertise their books or videos, if these products relate to your industry and are not in competition with your own product.
- You can allow customers to ‘opt in’ to get discounts and special offers. Place a link on your site to invite customers to ‘opt in’ to get a monthly newsletter or valuable coupons.
- Add a link to your primary page with a script ‘Book Mark or Add this site to your Favorites’.
- Add a link ‘Recommend this site to a Friend’ so that the visitor can email your website link, with a prewritten title, “Thought you might be interested in this”, just by clicking on it.
- Brand your website so that visitors always know they are on your site. Use consistent colors, logos and slogans and always provide a ‘Contact Us’ link on each page.
- Create a ‘Our Policies’ page that clearly defines your philosophy and principles in dealing with your customers. Also post your privacy policy as well so that clients know they are secure when they visit your site.
- Create a FAQ page which addresses most of the doubts and clarifications about your product or your company that are likely to be asked. This helps to resolve most of the customers doubts in their first visit to your site.
- Ensure that each page on your website has appropriate titles and keywords so that your customer can find their way back to your site if they lose the book mark.
- Never spam a client, who has opted for newsletters, with unsolicited emails. Later if they decide they want to ‘opt out’ of the mailings, be sure you honor their request and take them off the mailing list. They may still come back if they like your products. But they will certainly not come back if you continue to flood their email box with mails they no longer wish to receive.

Video Sharing
Video Sharing is wildly popular and you can use it to get a flood of targeted traffic to your website.
Do this by creating a short introduction or how to video and posting it in a social video sharing site like:
When you post your video be sure to use a catchy title, teasing description, and appropriate tags to make it easy for others to find. Then copy the code that video site provides you with and embed the link to your video on your site. This will save your bandwidth and storage space because the video will be hosted on the video sharing site that you are using.
Another benefit of using a video sharing site is that they provide a "Send to Friend" feature for your video. This feature is a link that allows others to share your video with a friend or hopefully more.
I hope you found this tip helpful and don't forget to leave your comments.

Buying Traffic
Buying traffic is another option and it can give your traffic stats a very quick boost. It can also be profitable, but you have to be very careful. A great deal of the traffic that is sold is of no use at all.
That is why it is important to know exactly what you are buying. Make sure you research any company that you are interested in using.
Don't be afraid to ask questions like:
where does the traffic come from? Is it real one time visitors or just computer counted hits? Is the traffic targeted or random?
See if you can contact former customers and find out how the service worked for them. Visit marketing forums and ask if anyone else has used it to find out if it is any good. Remember you get what you pay for. The higher the quality the more you can expect to pay.
I will be in touch soon with another great tip for you!
